Well that lasted 15-20 minutes, so suspect BBC1 will go off air at 9.30. Makes starting Today at Wimbledon on the red button at 9pm look even more questionable - should have held it until the BBC1 show ends so at least people can go there considering there is no slot on BBC2, though I guess if you go to iPlayer you can probably watch from start instead.

A downside of Today at Wimbledon now being pre-recorded is that it is harder to show in a truncated form if there's a 30-55 minute gap at the end of schedule like tonight.

Quite surprised really given they planned to ensure it is produced this year they haven't reinstated the "Yesterday at Wimbledon" repeat the following morning.
I'm surprised they didn't do a shorter version when a Murray match overran one Wednesday night in 2016, forcing Celebrity Masterchef to BBC2.

The series 2 premiere of Boy Meets Girl could've waited a week and a 30 minute live version of Today With Wimbledon could have aired post Versailles and into Newsnight.

But BBC2 felt 'well, Look North (NE&C) had been promoting it and no doubt Radio Newcastle did, so let's not upset them and air Boy Meets Girl.

(Given the premiere of S2 of Boy Meets Girl had a rating of 619,000, they might as well have taken a chance on Clare Balding).

I still think the best option is to schedule it after the BBC News at Ten - although we'd still be having this conversation should they have some 10.30/11pm finishes.   At least though something is getting produced nightly this year.

Would I Lie to You the filler of choice.

With iPlayer being the primary focus these days a full hour long edition available to watch anytime is probably more favourable than a truncated edition or any sort of late night rescheduled edition

As I mentioned, they could've dropped the Chris O'Dowd film The Program following Newsnight, and aired Today at Wimbledon at 11.15pm with a 40 minute version of another show to get back on schedule at 12.55am.

If they'd switched the match back over to BBC Two at 21:00 they would have had more options, and as a result could have shown Today at Wimbledon at 21:30, dropping The Best of Famalam at 22:00.

And delay the News at Ten? That wasn't ever going to happen.

Today at Wimbledon will now air at 11.15pm on BBC 2 after Newsnight. The Program has been pushed back to 12.15am.

I won't be suprised if this pre-recorded, on the iPlayer then chucked out on TV at random times Today and Wimbledon doesn't last, just like Wimbledon2Day didn't.
