From what he was saying on the Tennis Podcast last night, it sounds like his Wimbledon is done sadly and he's off to The Open.

Very much enjoyed the commentary of Guy McCrea and Melanie South on Discovery+
Believe it's Chris Bradnam and Miles Maclagan for the men's final tomorrow.

Sue Barker back in the royal box today. Considering she is in attendance shame they didn’t interview her to give her views on this years tournament

Some caps from the ESPN coverage.

Not sure what to think on the studio, it's a bit more interesting than the BBC studio and the BBC have the better view. The info bar (rotating between semi-useful stats and promos) was on screen throughout the studio coverage.

ESPN use their own graphics during matches (which do show the previous sets' scores!) but are not much of an upgrade on the world feed ones; the line stating the round is unecessary.  Game, Set & Facts sponsered by American Express pops up in the ESPN style - though this one did not air at the same time on the world feed.

The commentary box camera position could do with a bit more effort than a black background.

ESPN had their own interview with Markéta Vondroušová conducted by Mary Joe Fernández as soon as she got off the court. Rather reminiscent of the BBC interviews pre-COVID.

Shame. Along with Nick Mullins, they’re just a different class. I don’t know what Andrew Castle has on the BBC…

One wonders the same when listenning to John Inverdale on the men's doubles final. At least it's quite obvious his commentary gig came as compensation for his demotion off of 5 Live and Today at Wimbledon, not that that makes it any easier on the ears.

Very baffling how he often still says game instead of match, but at least he doesn't talk during points anymore (he still talks about too many random things/in general though).

I wonder if in future they would consider bringing the women's doubles final back to Saturday evening alongside the men's doubles final now that has been reduced to best of three sets? The Sunday evening doubles final sadly feels a bit after the Lord's Mayor Show, whilst not as much on Saturday. Today's Centre Court play has finished before 6pm, and it is unlikely that it would ever be significantly later than this. The moving of the mixed doubles final to the Thursday evening has worked well from a viewer's perspective I'd say.

Looks like the BBC won't be needing the 19:15-20:00 window on BBC Two this evening. Imagine there will be some filler added before the 19:15 news on BBC One.

RE: Wimbledon 2023 - Brekkie - 15-07-2023

Ridiculous the men's doubles is now only best of three, but even more bonkers not to get the Ladies Doubles done tonight too.

Clare really should have got the on court role - she's plenty of experience of such presentations and frankly of all the on court interviewers Annabel is one of the weakest.

In the past the mixed doubles final would be the last match of the tournament but that's been moved to Thursday night.
One reason for having the ladies' doubles on a different day to the singles is in case there is a player involved in both. They have committed to certain parts of the schedule for broadcasters.

I imagine they would have wanted some flexibility in today's schedule to move juniors or wheelchair finals onto the two big courts should the weather have been worse. Court 12, which has big stands round one side wasn't used today because of high winds otherwise some of the juniors matches would have been played there today.
However they haven't needed to change anything, and there are plenty of mixed invitational doubles to keep those who want to stay at Wimbledon entertained.

Rather than opting for filler they have decided to play out a recording of the men’s wheelchair doubles final from earlier this evening.
