We could nearly spin this off to a new thread! ITV Daytime - the troubles and triumphs and who was responsible!

Back on topic though - I can't see much changing at This Morning any time soon; it's trundling along in it's own way doing what it always does. Possibly if it had lost the NTA to something similar, like Morning Live or Steph's Packed Lunch, as opposed to what actually happened which is that something completely different won the award, there might be a greater need to think about shaking things up.

Matty Lock who hosted segments on This Morning about Vaccum Cleaners has died suddenly at the age of 19.

He was last on the show back in March.

That’s such sad news. One of the things that the show does well is giving people chances on air. Every time he’s appeared, he has been incredibly knowledgeable, warm and kind. My thoughts go to his family.

It’s a wonder they don’t pre-record the Miriam segments. A litany of (tame) profanities today. No F bombs as such, but still a few choice words.

With children possibly listening, do they just not care, or what?

And the rapid cuts to Holly who had to apologize a few times were so rapid, I guess they have a Miriam switch on the gallery console to deal with the inevitable slippage. Lol.

I presume that is the exact reason she keeps appearing! Although, would they risk getting in trouble with Ofcom for not taken preventative measures given her history?

A bit of a different few segment on the show today where Craig Doyle had taken the show 'on tour' to Liverpool, he did a bit on the street and then a fashion feature in Boots (with an expert like they'd have in the studio) and then a consumer item with Alice Beer. So it almost felt like he was hosting his own mini-This Morning alongside Holly & Josie in the studio.

I’m sure they’ll just be glad if she didn’t mention Phillip.

There was a slight allude when she was doing the agony aunt section when someone said they weren’t very well liked and she made a comment about “well it’s not nice when people are at you, as you’d well know” directed towards Holly.

It was also very obvious that they are swerving any mention of Phillip given earlier in the day, Sharon Marshall's best bits package to mark 20 years of being on This Morning.

The clips have all carefully been cropped to remove Phillip from the picture and you only get to hear Fern and Holly's voices.
