I'm pretty sure supermarkets stock hot cross buns all year round!

I think Holly is a bit trickier - Rochelle and Josie both quite competent but not quite there for me, though I'd favour Josie out of the two. I can't see Cat doing it full time either but seen reports this week she's lined up to replace Holly on Dancing on Ice if required which I think would be a very good fit.

Ultimately though I imagine the current mix and match arrangements will continue for the next few months at least, if not for longer. GMB has been going nearly three years without replacing Piers after all.

I agree with this completely. Craig is such an enjoyable watch for me and just has the sort of personality that is needed. I do prefer Josie too, but I find her a bit rough around the edges in a way that Rochelle isn't. Cat would be a great signing & I don't see it being an issue splitting the week into 3 and 2 instead to accommodate somebody who doesn't want a 4 day gig?

Arguably, that would be safer for This Morning as they'd be easing the reliance on just 1 duo doing the bulk of the week.

I've always thought Emma Willis would be pretty good and she's not on the telly enough, so would like to see her try a week or 2.

Sadly I don't have this weekend's lottery numbers...

In case anyone is curious, I have a spreadsheet for who’s presented the most number of shows for 2023. Holly still tops the list for now, but I doubt she’ll still be top of the list in a few weeks time.

It’s

Holly- 96 shows
Dermot- 85 shows
Alison- 79 shows
Philip- 58 shows
Craig- 41 shows
Josie- 40 shows
Rochelle- 25 shows
Andi Peters- 12 shows
Rylan- 7 shows
Cat Deeley- 3 shows
Ben Shephard- 3 shows
Joel Dommett- 2 shows
Steve Jones- 1 show

Is a bit of a beat up on Media Guardian though no real new info - just a lazy daytime TV is bad article from someone who probably doesn't have to watch much of it.

Yes, the show has had it's troubles this year but do feel like in the long term it's probably a blessing in disguise - the show being forced to move on from Holly and Phil isn't a bad thing at all. It's still IMO the superior product out of all the live ITV daytime shows and indeed Morning Live too. And Packed Lunch will soon be out of the picture, but that has unashamedly been This Morning in the Afternoon anyway.

Not really seen any reports on ratings since those first couple of weeks after Phil left - I'm guessing they're pretty steady as if there was a signficiant change either way you'd think that would be being spun by the press to fit the narrative.

Not sure it’s really fair to describe it as lazy; a fair few people have been spoken to, and it’s certainly nuanced. Just because you don’t like the writer’s viewpoint, doesn’t make it ‘lazy’.

I think the interview with Omid Scoobie proved that the show would be in safe hands with Craig Doyle at the helm. He gave that interview a lot more bite, vs Alison Hammond who didn’t really add much

A bit strange that there have been no announcements of the daytime shows appearing on Christmas Day as yet.

I wonder if they've been dropped from the schedule.

GMB, Lorraine and This Morning are all on Christmas Day again. Not sure about Loose Women.

Well there is this, but it's wrong, as it suggests Lorraine is on for three hours and doesn't mention Loose Women.

I think that news story is built entirely on an assumption that has been guessed

It’ll probably be right, but there is literally no confirmation there
