ESPN doing Toy Story NFL Football Game - rkolsen - 01-10-2023

For the NFL series in London ESPN ever the partner with corporate synergy converted the NFL game into a bunch of players in Andy’s Room from the movie.

It looks like there is little delay between the typical broadcast and this special broadcast.  The hosts are even wearing motion capture suits so they can stand up and demonstrate different plays. Here’s their setup:

Nice idea and technologically very impressive, though still doesn't make "football" interesting.

Apparently the tracking on the field was done using tracking by Hawk Eye which synchronizes all of the cameras. https://operations.nfl.com/officiating/instant-replay/hawk-eye/

Seems like similar technology to what FIFA developed for use in their Semi-Automated Offside system
