Not a surprise, but RTE are closing Aertel on Thursday the 12th of October. They've been trying to get rid of it for years. At this stage It's likely that only a few people are using it.

The sudden announcement of it's closure is probably to make sure no group can start a protest against the shut down. They've learnt their lessons about this from the closure of the Long Wave service.
