RE: CNN - TMD_24 - 24-05-2023

Another CNN Republican Town Hall coming next month, this time with Nikki Haley.

RE: CNN - oscillon - 24-05-2023

Richard Quest just made a brief appearance on CNNI three minutes before he was scheduled to go on air, announcing Tina Turner's death and throwing it to Domestic that already was in the beginning of the obit package.
(For some reason CNN took the news almost half an hour later than Sky and Beeb.)

All three anchors are seated, and, as is the case with CNN News Central, it does not use usual "Breaking News" stinger.

CNN is doing themselves no favours with these town halls. The republican party loathe and despise CNN. I believe this is CNN trying to make as much money as they can.

RE: CNN - Brekkie - 24-05-2023

Worth remembering CNN's new owners are the same who partly bankrolled the launch of GB News.

I personally don’t like the CNN Town Hall format with one politician featuring unchallenged by any another politician. CNN seem to be wedded to the format though, and given that there won’t be a real contest for the Democratic Presidential nomination it will mainly be Republican Town Halls that we will see on CNN in the lead-up to next years election.

I suppose it'd be difficult to get the candidates to agree on answering questions from independents or members of the public from the opposite side of the aisle otherwise they'd do it, would make for better television.

For her, yeah.  The move is happening in phases.  First phase already underway.  It would be chaos to try to have everyone move all at once.  Some teams or portions of teams are already working in the newsrooms there.

Newsrooms are largely finished but other things are not — like the new studio.

Anchors could be LAST to move there.

Yes, as she's an anchor it's clear the programming will be the last to come online.

I’m honestly struggling to understand how Techwood has enough space to absorb CNN. CNN Center looks about as big as the offices at Techwood and there hasn’t been anything new constructed on the campus recently. Where exactly are they finding the space for the newsroom and studio and all the support functions?
