Not an unsuprising one after the Trump debacle though.

Terrible, they might as well bring back Zucker so that his CNN fandome employees can be happy again. Shy

Wow. CNN is really having an identity crises at the moment. To describe things as chaotic is an understatement.

RE: CNN - i.h - 07-06-2023

after reading the various long form articles, it does feel like Licht's the scapegoat. Maybe some bits will revert to the better (having a CEO who is more engaged with the staff) but it feels like the general direction is coming right from the top, ie Zaslav or the major shareholders like Malone

RE: CNN - Luc - 07-06-2023

What a disastrous tenure that was - you cannot 'both sides' the news in the age of Trump, Republican lies and social media disinformation, let alone slag off your staff in a magazine profile of yourself.

CNN confirms itself

Well, at least he got News Central right, hope that won't be dismantled.

RE: CNN - EastCoast - 07-06-2023

Wow, didn't expect this to happen to quickly.

Will be fun to see what changes over the next few months on air.

RE: CNN - Omnipresent - 07-06-2023

The Trump Town Hall was a huge mistake and it’s axiomatic you have to carry people with you and manage relationships with on air talent.

That said, the self indulgence of the Zucker era had to end.

The navel gazing by current & former CNN employees over the past weeks has been a bit much.

Whoever the permanent replacement is needs to focus on audiences & reporting and not inward.

I was hoping they'd bring 17L back online, but with Early Start being the only show who'd currently use it, it seems unlikely.

IIRC, Pamela Brown posted a picture not too long ago go her prepping for an edition of PRIMETIME from 17L, so it hasn't been dismantled.
