Darcy is such a Stelter wannabe, probably still works for Zucker ....

The ratings bump is cause of all the recent breaking news.

Since everything Licht did is getting nullified, is Collins gonna be sidelined as well?

Indeed it was, from CNN's own announcment

I don't think so unless they have a better solution for a year and a half old 9pm conundrum.  Remember, Kaitlan Collins, at least at first, gave a much craved for viewership boost at that slot, something even Jake Tapper could not pull off.

RE: CNN - W. Knight - 27-06-2023

A side note: Seems like their sister channel HLN has a new on-screen logo.

ITN called, they want their old logo back Big Grin

Wolf got Studio A back, with the desk rolled in back as well!

They even got "CNN Washington" above the screen, wonder if it is permanent or they will take it on and off every time between News Central and TSR...

For comparison, this is how the same curved screen area looked an hour and a half before TSR, during the final hour of today's News Central

"CNN Washington" was either still dismantled or hidden behind the lighting system and white rectangle dressing that is now above the curved screen itself.

UPD. It appears that white "curtains" above the screen that are visible during News Central and are absent in TSR, were reconfigured to their current News Central position on June 22. Back on June 21 they were in a rectangular shape making the absence of "CNN Washington" label clear, as seen on the screen cap.

However, since June 22 they were placed in a curved shape exactly on top of the screen, so most likely they indeed hide "CNN Washington" that was installed back on its place not before a week ago.

The Situation Room is finally back in Studio A tonight. It's been a while and it looks much better in there than compared to Studio D.

I can't see much changes compared to last time it was in Studio A.

I found it interesting that both Stelter and Darcy both seem to say something about CNN doing a varied amount of stories and seem to cast that idea in a negative light and more on the idea of taking a few stories "of consequence" they probably both liked Zucker's idea of taking 1 or 2 stories and run in to the ground.

Inspeaking of the new HLN logo, it looks like the old ITN logo, but also almost like an inverse CNN logo, too bad we'll never see that logo with news (minus the simulcast that says on HLN)

Here's how it looks on air,  the reason the shot looks like this is because they are airing a old episode  of Forensic Files with footage from a VHS.  [Image: Screenshot-186.png]

Yep. The ratings bump is down to the Sub - which they smartly went all in on. Reminiscent of their surge during MH370 wall to walk coverage. Plus Russia - which leans into historic CNN I strength. It’s a good reminder that, as has always been, the casual viewer will turn to CNN for NEWS (not politics).

RE: CNN - EastCoast - 28-06-2023

It looks like they removed the column in the corner of Anderson Cooper’s studio. Will try and grab a screenshot when it’s on the archive site.

A little further round, right where the two walls meet.
