Yes.  Those World Sport editions do typically air on Max.  But I think it’s more incidental rather than an intentional programming choice.

Max takes that entire 5 or 6-hour CNNI OVN block… and World Sport just happens to be a small part of that.

It’s not listed on the CNN Max schedule and when it says what’s on, it doesn’t say World Sport, etc.

CNN Max is basically just the CNNI North America feed with a handful of Max exclusive programs thrown on top of it.

State Of The Race is using the giant desk today in Studio D used for big news days rather than the table format which suggests we may get rolling coverage of the motion to vacate vote later.

Jake Tapper anchoring from 1pm ET, International is staying with Amanpour.

CNNI sticking with Quest Means Business rather then going to CNN Domestic albeit still covering the Speaker vote. They would have joined domestic if QMB wasn’t also on CNN Max. It looks like CNN Max will protect some CNNI shows.

This is what I was hoping for. CNN Max will, ironically, force CNNI to do more of its own coverage and use its own resources.

Right now we have Quest doing his hour, rolling coverage of House vote, Jim S is joining him as a contributor, together with other reporters/commentators. Something like this was unimaginable before Max when CNNI would just tune into CNN US for the rest of the day.

RE: CNN - TMD_24 - 03-10-2023

I should point out that when the Speakership vote chaos happened in January, International did not opt-out of normal programming even when there were votes going on then, they only showed domestic hours during scheduled times.

It surprised me then given the history of what was happening and if it was someone like Trump in that position then it would get non-stop coverage with domestic simulcasts. It does look like they are following the same plan this time round but the main event is happening during normal domestic simulcasted anyway. Quite pleased to see International do their own thing as mentioned tbf and comparing the coverage to domestic there seems to be a similar balance between showing speeches and discussion.

They might be forced to have more CNNI/Max produced hours since some cable companies are not happy with domestic streaming.

What did Max do at 1pm?  I assume they had their own coverage instead sticking with Amanpour.

Tonight's Situation Room referred to as a special tonight, given the forced ousting of the House Speaker. Coverage co-hosted by Wolf Blitzer and Erin Burnett. Opening graphics updated to read "The Speaker's Fate".
