CNNI had special (but brief) coverage of the Nobel Peace Prize announcement today anchored by Max Foster

Took up the first 10 min or so of the 5am ET hour instead of Early Start. It was little more than the announcement itself.

Then he tossed back to Early Start. Didn’t catch how clean of a transition it was. Like 2-3 min later Early Start had Max Foster on to talk about the Nobel Prize announcement.

All of Early Start is supposed to air on CNN Max, but it also showed CNNI’s Nobel Peace Prize coverage today. Makes sense since it’s just the CNNI North America feed most of the time.

It was quite clean. Max Foster announced Early Start coming next, then there was a wide shot of the London Studio with "breaking news" music, and that was cut to Early Start returning from a break stinger.

And, as was the case several months ago during the Wagner mutiny, Wolf stepped in not at the top, but somewhat in the middle of the hour. (Although this time no London backdrop, as he's in the US - it's the usual red CNN Breaking News backdrop.)

CNN Max will have Richard Quest at 3pm ET and Jim Sciutto from 7pm ET. Not sure if International will simulcast them or stick to Domestic.

CNNI is obviously producing these shows.  So it’s more like Max is showing the CNNI coverage.  But yeah, CNNI would otherwise be simulcasting Domestic if not for Max.
