RE: CNN - Charles - 14-10-2023

Hala Gorani has joined NBC News as a contributor. Seems like probably a pretty casual (read: freelance) arrangement, but it's great to see her on TV again, especially right now.

I enjoyed seeing Hala's videos from her previous 2 appearances on MSNBC. Great to hear she's now labeled as contributor which means we will see even more of her. More objective voices, like hers, are much needed in these times of utter bias and subjectivity in most news media, especially American.

Wolf is currently presenting CNN Newsroom as of 11am ET, he is presenting from the broom cupboard in Washington.

Has Wolf worked every day since the conflict began or did he have any days off during the week?

Apparently he did appear every day, both on Saturday and Sunday a week ago and throughout the week.

At 3pm ET CNNI and CNN/US went separate ways again: just after Wolf announced "CNN Newsroom with Jim Acosta", CNNI/Max(?) actually went to CNN Newsroom with Isa Soares! Glad to see her doing some of the coverage, since her own show was fully pre-empted this week.

On the other hand, it again raises the question of maximal amount of simulcast: on weekdays CNNI was just fine simulcasting 4 more hours than usual (8-11am & 2pm), but now feels the urge to do its own coverage. Although if it hadn't been for the current opt-out, the simulcast would be absolute, which indeed wouldn't go well with the cable providers.

Jose Andres & Family in Spain does air according to the schedule especially when the IDF could very well start a ground operation at any time. It does thankfully appear that International will be running rolling news at least with their own coverage and providing a domestic opt-out between 8pm-11pm UK time Saturday and Sunday which I also assume is also the Max opt-out.
Now the US schedule is saying that 8-10 pm on Sunday will be AC360, and The Whole Story will air at 10pm. (On CNN/US only?)

CNNI schedule is laggy now, it hasn't even changed the late night shows' names to Newsnight and LC Live for the second half of the next week.
Still, it correctly predicted that 3-6 pm today (and 8pm-12am?) isn't be simulcast, although labelled all of them to be anchored by Lynda Kinkade.

He's worked every day I believe because he did a double shift Saturday and another Situation Room on the Sunday as well as his usual weekday shows plus the show he has done today.

For the record, it has been Wolf Blitzer presenting from 11am-3pm ET in Washington with Sara Sidner co-presenting from Tel Aviv from 1pm-3pm. Jim Acosta has taken over as of 3pm ET also from the broom cupboard in Washington whilst International (I presume Max as well) has opted out to take it's own coverage with Isa Soares in London and Becky Anderson from Tel Aviv.

RE: CNN - TMD_24 - 15-10-2023

Julia Chatterley is presenting the 7pm ET International opt-out right now. Is that her first presenting appearance since First Move was axed?

And the CNNI schedule got it wrong regarding 8pm opt-out, in reality it is now, 7pm ET, that CNNI/Max went again its own way after an hour of simulcast.

IIRC, it must be the first time since First Move came to a close that we see Julia Chatterley anchoring.

RE: CNN - London Lite - 15-10-2023

CNNi's North American feed is back on DIRECTV stream, complete with local times for CNNi shows and advertising, but the clock is still showing GMT and CET from the EMEA feed rather than PT/ET.

Just to add, Wolf has worked again today, continuing his streak of working everyday since the Israel-Gaza crisis has started. He's joined Dana Bash from Washington during the 1pm ET Newsroom hour from Studio D as a guest to show off an interview he did earlier with the President Of Israel in the flash studio.

Sara Sidner has had a long day in Tel Aviv co-presenting CNN This Morning with Victor and Amara and now also doing the shift with Dana Bash.

To finish off some of the coverage from yesterday, Jim Acosta did a very long 3pm-8pm shift yesterday with Erin Burnett jointing from Tel Aviv from 5pm-8pm. Anderson Cooper did AC360 from 8pm-10pm fron Tel Aviv with John Berman also presenting with him from the New York broom cupboard during AC360 and solo from 10pm-12am.
