End of an era indeed. Excited to see what tomorrow morning looks like from Techwood

Well it stands to reason the video walls would be moved/sold. (though they are old tech by now) I remember reading somewhere the actual set was being relocated and modified and updated to fit the new studio and Turner Techwood. But you also just said "walls". Maybe its semantics but "walls" and "videowalls" are two completely different things. So maybe thats were the confusion is coming from.

But the video walls of course has been removed.

I love how Rosemary continues to call it Turner Broadcast Studios

New memo from Mark Thompson laying out his 5 part plan: https://x.com/nataliekorach/status/1763626695301464214?s=46

Also its worth nothing. They claimed the set from Studio 7 will be moved and reassembled at Turner Techwood. Depending on when that was shot by Derek. The Studio7 set looks to be pretty much intact. So it seems there will be completely new set for Domestic and International.

It's sad that this Tik Tok clip is the only attempt for any sort of goodbye video, which of course did not even make it to air. You would expect at least a short, 2 minute report on the history of the place and CNN's legacy, at the end of Fred's final news bulletin. No effort whatsoever.....

Lots of corp-speak. Will be interesting to see what all that actually looks like. But Mark Thompson got a big task ahead of him. He was successful in turning around the New York Times. Hopefully the same can be said for CNN.

LOL yet another last XX from CNN Center. I thought we were already done with that. Maybe THIS is finally it?????

Not quite shuttered — probably still weeks more of moving stuff out (at least!!).

And I think the atrium level with the food court is possibly still open to the public. Not sure the building is literally shuttered.

No one said that studio 7 would be reassembled entirely at Techwood. Some components were used. But it’s definitely a new studio.

It was never called Turner Broadcast. It was Turner Broadcasting.

That name that hasn’t been used since the AT&T merger however many years ago.

Believe me or not, but it’s most commonly referred to simply as Techwood. Of course there are many names past and present that anyone is free to use.

I think Rosemary might be using that because it comes up as a tagable location on instagram. Can’t anyone add those though?

Finally. I doubt much will change since CNN has to follow that mainstream US narrative. That said, there is a distinct difference in domestic and CNNI reporting.

I don’t want to be too optimistic but it sounds like maybe programs on CNNi might be getting more attention. If they really do want increase competitiveness with networks like BBC World and Al-Jazeera then increasing live programming and bringing back hours from London and Hong Kong is the way to go. Not to mention investing in bureaus around the world.

It’s thin on the ground though. CNNI has been a shadow of itself since the Go Beyond Borders relaunch in 2009. The white era had the perfect tone, mix of stories and a reliable schedule for each region.
