End of an era. Local media confirm it’ll be moved Techwood after a few days or weeks of refurbishment.

Now will the letters be in a place where the public can view them?! Unclear.

Also… obviously those letters were the most iconic and well known… but there are two other public entrances to CNN Center…. All with big CNN signs.

There are also CNN letters on several sides of the building (at the top).

When will all of those go away? Or maybe some have already… but all anyone cares about are the main letters.

Thanks for sharing. Amazing how much can change in 12 years. So much of this video is what I miss about CNN. The light newsroom graphics, the visual interest behind the anchors, the true rolling news handoffs, Studio 7, and most controversially the lower thirds with the show bug, flipper, and disappearing live bug. I could watch this version of CNN all day.

Worth noting that 5 anchors were used from 7am-4pm in 2012. Today's schedule uses 8 for the same duration.

I know there's no use living in the past, but if CNN wanted to capture some of the energy from this today, they should roll out an updated version of this Newsroom package, bring back some of the looped video/control room style backgrounds and bring the desk away from the wall. I can't tell you how much better this looks because of the space between the anchor and the set piece behind them. With 10am-7pm from DC, CNN could easily make Studio A/B feel like Studio 7 and bring back in-studio handoffs.

I hope the relocated sign is publicly accessible. It's is such an important piece of Atlanta.

Publicly viewable? Maybe. Publicly accessible? Very unlikely.

Sad

In other news, it seems like CNN have a whole building to themselves at Techwood

Yeah, when I read rumors online in 2009/2010 that "CNN Newsroom" was moving from the actual newsroom to a big, brand-new studio, I remember thinking what an odd choice it was to keep the show title. When it finally made air and moved to Studio 7, it was the entire look that still sold it and made it feel like you were truly still "in the CNN Newsroom" even though the show was studio-based. That monitor wall with the frosted panels, the live video feeds on the big video wall, the working space on one side of the studio, and the sharp and fast-moving animations all really gave it that immediacy that a rolling news block craves.

Now, it's been years of anchors on tight shots in front of cityscapes saying "I'm XXX and you're in the CNN Newsroom" and it doesn't nearly have the same effect.

With the clocks changing in America next week, the International schedules in the UK is slightly different. Most shows move an hour forward except for Quest Means Business and as a result, the CNN Max Newsroom show with Jim Sciutto will be shown at 7pm UK time next week.

Jim usually anchors at 2pm ET and Quest at 3pm ET. With this change Jim anchors at 3pm ET and Quest at 4pm ET. Is this a way to get rid of the last CNN Max hour rather than an effect of the time change?

Seems to me they have finally spiced up their election visuals. There's more details, depth and shapes in the background graphics etc. Looks much better.

I’ve dipped in and out of CNN’s coverage tonight of the Super Tuesday results, and one thing is clear, they are still not rid of the partisan commentary.

In my view, CNN needs to go back to its roots as a news channel and not a political talking shop.

CNN’s coverage of the 2000 election from the primaries to the Florida recount and the court challenges are a perfect example of how the channel should be.
