They've been running a few new promos during as breaks for CNN NEWS CENTRAL. Unfortunately I am unable to capture them as I don't have the rewind feature on my domestic feed. Looks great though.

It is indeed from Studio 19Z (CNN Tonight, Erin Burnett). And they are using former Fareed Zakaria corner as well.

Kate Bolduan appears to be on her own in an unknown separate studio.

UPD. Not sure about Kate now, John nodded to her as if she was in the studio as well but that might be a gimmick.

Intro and whole presentation are excellent, looks fantastic on screen.

Maybe it gives a hint on what a general new look CNN set of graphics may look like. Shame Kara Scannell's live shot is being ruined by someone walking around with an anti-semitic banner.

Looks slick, fresh, new and they've really upped their game with those titles.

That's a gorgeous openning! Wow. Music theme is wonderful. CNN US has had terribly bland, non-existent music for ages now.

Intro and graphics look great! I don't think there's any reference to News Central in the studio, only in the bottom right. (Notable that it says "NEWS CENTRAL" not "CNN NEWS CENTRAL"). Although I feel bad for the anchors if they're on their feet for the full 3 hours.

Only qualm is that I'm pretty sure the desk was taken from Studio 7. Looks like it has the red base that would be featured on CNN Newsroom overnights.

Well, they really made use of that studio, with so many simultaneous presenting positions now.






I don't remember what they did in that corner when Trump was indicted - both Cohen interview and the panel were from the same desk next to the videowall near the staircase.

UPD. Yes, Kate is in the same studio, standing now at the staircase.

I'm really enjoying the energy that CNN News Central has. Although I'm not sure I understand the need for three anchors. Hopefully there is a nice close with all three of them at the end of the third hour. Definitely a better West Coast Breakfast show as well.

Impressed so far. It feels energetic and pacey. But I imagine there will be changes after today. The anchors standing the entire time will be the first thing I can see going away. I like the 3 personalities they have together. John, Kate and Sara seems to be fit together nicely. I always thought the previous use of those studios was a HUGE waste. Just to sit at desk and do a talking head every day for a single programme. I like its being used for other programmes. The graphics look great. I like the interactive use of the explainers. As mentioned the new theme resurrects the CNN signature. Which Zucker seemingly threw away along with the rest of the CNN heritage. Nice to see some of it being resurrected. Listening more to it sounds like they actually recreated/modernized an CNN old theme. I cant put my finger on it. The tune sounds familiar. If so WOW. Thats a great touch. This a great relaunch. Hopefully it will survive the inevitable tinkering that will happen shortly.
