Message or Broadcast - not Speech though, which is at the State Opening of Parliament!

It contains speech.  Tongue

And that's enough discussion around whether it is called the King's Speech or not now, thanks. By all means continue it in PM if preferred, but it's not particularly relevant to BBC One's pres.

If the BBC Christmas TV Press pack is published as midnight, we will likely get to see confirmation of what has been suggested regarding Idents.

Following my previous post, the BBC Christmas pack has indeed been published.

Focusing again on iPlayer, but it does suggest a festive ident featuring Tabby McTat.

Can't say I'll be watching anything on the BBC then, at least not the stuff that is mentioned. Some of the films that are made out to be highlights are really poor.

RE: BBC One Christmas 2023 - Brekkie - 28-11-2023

I do wonder if rather than giving every show a Christmas special every year and having the same shows on Christmas Day most years whether actually limiting more shows to every couple of years which although perhaps means they offer a bit less would actually feel like they're offering a bit more rather than the same, old, same old, every year - and for those that do air annually don't always have them on Christmas Day.

Doctor Who on Christmas Day feels more of an event, and more worthy of the slot, because it's not been on the main day for a few years and isn't just airing by default. It feels like it's earned the slot.

Do feel like Christmas Day would be instantly better by not including Mrs Brown's Boys. That's such a baffling deal. But just switching shows around a bit could make the big day feel really fresh - having Doctor Who, Death in Paradise, Not Going Out and Ghosts would be a very solid Christmas Day line up.

There's seriously nothing in that lot that interests you? Wow  Rolleyes

Indeed… this is the one time of year my PVR comes close to bursting, sometimes I wonder if they keep all the good programmes for Christmas time.

Yes, most likely a new one for Tabby McTat and re-using the Gruffalo and Zog ones. Someone on X/Twitter pretty much confirmed it to me.

As for the schedules, apart from Ghosts and Doctor Who, really not a lot to choose from for me. The schedules have been almost identical for the last few years sadly. I miss studio sitcoms (not counting Mrs Brown's Boys), but they're largely out of fashion.
