RE: BBC One Christmas 2023 - Argyess - 22-11-2023

I'm guessing Saturday the 2nd, straight after Strictly.

RE: BBC One Christmas 2023 - rick - 22-11-2023

I'd imagine they'll debut before Strictly on Sat 2nd Dec or Sat 9th Dec. Didn't they start quite early last year?

RE: BBC One Christmas 2023 - ACTV - 22-11-2023

Can definitely see them being introduced on 2nd after Doctor Who and before Strictly, as there's likely to be a big audience at that time, and both shows will be at the heart of this year's Christmas schedule.

I'd be surprised if they debuted after Strictly into Survivor seeing as that show really hasn't been doing well at all.

RE: BBC One Christmas 2023 - JMT1985 - 22-11-2023

It is now fairly certain BBC One airs their Christmas idents on or around December 1st - the era of Christmas idents airing later than that are gone.

So if they want publicity, then Saturday December 2nd seems the perfect time, especially with a packed Saturday schedule of brand new Doctor Who and the musicals week of Strictly Come Dancing - my bet is on this date.

RE: BBC One Christmas 2023 - JAS84 - 22-11-2023

Yeah, I'd bet on 6:30pm Saturday - the ident that introduces the Doctor Who episode Wild Blue Yonder.

RE: BBC One Christmas 2023 - SteveRW - 23-11-2023

I predict that The Traitors will start on Monday December 18th and will have the final on New Year's Day. I also predicted to myself that Vigil would be the New Year's Day drama premiere, I clearly got that wrong, but could that be when The Tourist series 2 starts?

I think the ident will launch on Sunday 3rd December.

Think Vigil is the Sun/Mon/Tue that week, which feels like a burn off for a series which was suited well to airing weekly in the first run.

We loved Vigil - but I don't think it was appointment to view / needed to avoid spoilers in the same way Happy Valley, for example, was.

So I can understand it being scheduled like that and it's then available as a box set over Christmas which, to be honest, is probably when we'll end up watching it.

I can't think of a drama/series like that we've watched live since Happy Valley tbh - our viewing habits have completely changed (partly due to having small children and lives revolving around their bedtimes, etc!)

Yeah, not seeing them going beyond that, not even by one day.

Anyone know if BBC Two have anything new for their festive idents this year? Three of them have already been used for five Christmases in a row, so it'd be nice to see a change now. But I'm not going to hold my breath!!
