RE: ITV Christmas 2023 - cable - 03-12-2023

They could have slapped an itv1 logo over the cgi dancing on ice trailer with the polar bears from a few years back.

ITV have a habit of this - they provided no Christmas idents in 2006 or 2007 but did have some festive styles for trailers, promos etc, but no effort at all for Christmas idents.

Anyone remember Christmas 2011? When ITV simply kept their usual idents, and just slapped on their mascot for Text Santa on to them - pathetic and lazy for a national public broadcaster

The Bubbles ident is set in summer time, but they just slapped the mascot on it with no thought or care whatsoever.

Talk of the 2012 set is making me remember this hilariously bad news ident - everything else was lovely and they did amend this later on but it is funny. https://youtu.be/Y0aKR02FNFM?si=GfyQ8JZNwjzKWiAy

Imagine if the Queen had died in Christmas 2012, and they used this to introduce the breaking news, ITV would have been to the point of being closed down.

Wouldn't the Christmas pres be dropped in that situation?

Weren’t there also a couple of years when they just added a few sparkles around the logo during the celebrity era, with the idents otherwise unchanged?

It's not just ITV, STV also roll out the same for what has felt like decades.

Yes in 2002, when they kicked off the celebrity ident package

RE: ITV Christmas 2023 - Larry the Loafer - 24-12-2023

ITV receiving some (well deserved, IMO) flack on Twitter for some pretty overly-cautious editing to Home Alone 2 tonight, including the famous electric shock scene getting butchered with no screaming Marv skeleton. Pretty strange considering Channel 4 leave it untouched whenever they've shown it in recent years.
