Given MOTD had 2.6m and Liam Hamilton on Twitter said it was the second biggest audience on BBC1, it just shows how unappealing the rest of the night is. Would be good to see how bad Bridge of Lies and Pointless are doing. The new £500 extra for pointless answers in the endgame is the most side-splitting thing on BBC1 on Saturday.
On ITV, Takeaway is doing the business though Starstruck down on last series but still OK (around the 3m mark). Probably enough to get a third series. Ronan Keating will fill in for Shania Twain for the next two episodes due to her other work commitments.

No doubt almost certainly a co-incidence considering it was recorded months ago (as executive producer of the show Chris Stuart died in July 2022), but Only Connect used a picture of Dick Fosbury in a picture question, and the shock was enough to finish him off it would appear:

Episode count is something always commented on with The Voice, but whatever version it is, it never seems to be able to hold onto viewers after the auditions. It's never been as exciting as X Factor, seems too formatty and hard to keep track of with all the technicalities and sheer number of contestants involved, plus the grand prize is worthless.
Yes - The Weakest Link has shown over Christmas there is an audience around early evening and splitting it over 5 episodes airing at 6.30pm would give it a better chance, with the two 90-minute audition episodes becoming three one hour shows then the two hour performance show split over two nights, giving the impression at least of a semi final and final.

It's an odd one, considering how successful the daytime version has been in the 3pm slot.
Celebrity Lingo wasn't help by the fact it launched around the time The Queen passed away, so it was cancelled one week and then delayed another because they had soaps to catchup on....
I do wonder if using Ru Paul was a mistake? On paper it seems like a perfectly fine 6pm Saturday/Sunday show.

Indeed. Plus considering it looks like they're doing a second series of the US version in Manchester anyway, I am surprised ITV haven't decided to try a second set of 6 or so episodes.

Ru Paul was absolutely a mistake, but I also think it's not shiny floor enough to translate into primetime and that is probably why Ru Paul was added to try and cover that, but really it just added to the problem rather than solved it.
