The BBC DOG is confusing me - if anything it looks like one of those generic ITV Saturday/Sunday morning chat shows although I'm not sure which one would have had that background or chairs.

If Channel 5 were to try and do a gameshow involving ITN as a producer or co-producer. I think it would work better to try to do a 100% style quiz show that can raid ITN's archive. Make it part news, part sport, part 'lifestyle' (whatever that means as the term seems to cover most if not all bases) and all knowledge.

Me too - because that's Stephen Mulhern, who's very much an ITV face.

RE: The TV Gameshow Thread - Nobby - 20-06-2023

The image is from The One Show on Thursday. Mr Mulhern had kindly recorded a special message for a young fan who had done some work to raise awareness of Alopecia. That explains the BBC logo.

The question still remains though, where did he record the message from?

The hexagons suggest it is from the set of a yet to be announced Blockbusters revival (it must be due). The bare brick walls suggest it's from the set of Deal or No Deal and they have paid homage to the Dream Factory in their set design. The record collection (the front one is Rumours by Fleetwood Mac) suggests that it is simply recorded in Mulhern's own home and he makes unusual interior design choices. This would be easy to check if his house ever appeared on Through the Keyhole but I'm not sure that it did.

However, all those theories seem to be thrown out when you consider this second image.

I assume the yellow dog is Mr Chips' dog and therefore this was recorded at Mr Chips' home but other theories and ideas are welcome.

BTW, Stephen Mulhern was on Would I Lie to You in recent years, so he is not exclusively ITV property. I doubt you'd see Ant and/or Dec make such an appearance for example.

I went through the UK Gameshows page on Mulhern to see if there were any stray BBC programmes that he has done listed but none seem to be there.

Addendum:

Mulhern and Through The Keyhole
He popped up according to Wikipedia in three episodes as a panellist only:
1) The 2015 Christmas Special alongside Jimmy Carr and Claudia Winkleman.
2) A 2017 episode alongside John Thomson and Kym Marsh.
and
3) A 2018 episode alongside Rochelle Humes and Louis Walsh.

I thought perhaps he’d been over to Dublin to appear on Irish daytime TV or he’d filmed a cameo for a drama like Doctor Who in which he’s a host of a fictional chat show, however it looks like it’s from the set of Laura Whitemore’s Breakfast Show, which Stephen was a guest on in May. I had no idea it existed.

RE: The TV Gameshow Thread - Nobby - 20-06-2023

Thanks Jon. You're a good man, I don't care what anyone says.

I'd never heard of this programme either but Google confirms it exists and it's even on real television (ITV1), not just ITVX.

Definitely the Laura Whitmore set going by the pictures in this tweet. You even spot the dog statue (which I've since found online for nearly £30 - no thanks!) in the background as well!
