Just admit that you don't know about the internal mechanics of these things (and that's not a criticism, just a statement-of-fact) - nor the nuances of British media law (ditto) - that therefore aren't worthy of your scorn... and we can move on.
ETA: Everyone is entitled to their opinion, otherwise forums like this wouldn't exist. What you're NOT entitled to do is say (to paraphrase): "Channel X sucks for not doing this", then when you're told that not only DID they do it (by someone who facilitated it, no less) and that there are specific reasons why they didn't do it more, you refuse to give any ground. It's just silly.

So Sky News are broadcasting an interview that WATO is broadcasting live on Radio 4. Would this have required BBC approval from a copyright perspective?

Not sure whether this is commonplace, but it's the first time I've spotted it.
Sky News are continuing live coverage of the ongoing BBC scandal on TV, and instead of cancelling Ian King's new Business Live programme, they're running it as a live stream on YouTube.

I was literally about to mention that. I dont think ive seen them carry on streaming business live whilst covering breeaking news. So Sarah Jane Mee has been doing a good job covering this story. She seems prepared. I do like that they had a media lawyer prepared to jump on and comment on this story. And he was good at explaing the legal implications of the story. Good booking whoever found this media lawyer. Good coverage on Sky News so far.
Edit: They now have Criminal Defence lawyer (Liam Kotrie) live from Manchester and he is explaining the law. This is a good booking. he is providing context and how this case could potentionally go according to the law as it stands. The producers did a great job with this booking this guy. Too bad they dont bring him on staff as a commentator. (LOL)
By the way. Does Sky have a Manchester Bureau newsroom? Cant recall ever seeing one on air.
