It sounds much better than the Wednesday show Sophy used to do, "The Take with Sophy Ridge". That sounds fine, except there was also an unrelated segment of Sophy Ridge on Sunday called "Sophy Ridge: The Take" which was never renamed.

I just can’t read Politics Hub without being reminded of a certain black and orange website

‘Final spin’ of the SJM ‘Show’; but will todays edition be as completely unmemorable as every edition aired thus far?

RE: Sky News - SB678 - 31-08-2023

I don't know, I thought the time it was presented by Jonathan Samuels a few months ago and my dad turned to me and said "Sarah-Jane looks quite pretty today" was memorable.

Well at long last the vanity branded SJM "show" has finally gone. I have no issue with Mee as a presenter, but it was the most pointless branding when all it was was rolling news.

RE: Sky News - sky303 - 31-08-2023

I wonder if Sky News could have done the MSNBC thing of having their rolling news be [Anchor Name] Reports could have worked?

I don't get the obsession that some news channels have with just 'branding' everything. The point of branded programming is surely that it is something distinct that they want to stand out to viewers - showing this is a 'special' programme that you should watch for x reason. More brands weaken this and just end up in competition with each other. Plus, with generic news programming, the brand people trust most, want to turn to the most is BBC News/Sky News - makes little sense to dilute that with weaker brands.

Liz Bates is away until next year as she has gone on maternity leave. Congrats to her!

There always seems to be a lot of hatred for Sara-Jane Mee on here - as if she’s the person who decided to call her strand The Sarah-Jane Mee Show.

Almost certainly wasn’t her decision (presenters don’t get to decide that sort of thing, and she was following on from The Kay Burley Show), and she’s a damn good presenter to be honest.
