I guess using the desk/screen area of the studio could get in the way of using the CSO part. I'm sure they could still schedule time slots, unless they like having the increased availability for the CSO part.

When they used Studio 6 for Sunrise, both parts were in use at the same time. The weather and some reports came from the CSO part, and they would include real elements of the set in the wideshots. They would merge it all together quite effectively.

Perhaps as use of the studio reduced they removed some of the cameras and used them elsewhere in Sky Centre. If that was the case, it may not be so easy now to use both sides at the same time.

True. I guess I was more meaning using the desk area with screens, not both as they did in the previous Sunrise era. Plus if someone wanted to record a report using the CSO area while a programme was being broadcast from the desk area - might be competing noises with multiple people talking at the same time.

RE: Sky News - gottago - 20-10-2023

I hope with Sky Mix launching as an HD only channel on Freesat this will set a precedent for Sky News HD going free to air soon. It's the only one still in SD in the Freesat news section and I always end up streaming it from Youtube instead as the SD quality is just so noticeably poor these days. I'm not sure why they haven't already done this, no one's taking out an HD subscription just to watch Sky News in HD and nothing else.

RE: Sky News - cable - 20-10-2023

Maybe with their new found appreciation for FTA, they might make Sky Sports News available in the clear again.

RE: Sky News - bkman1990 - 20-10-2023

Sky Mix has a new combo advert showing a recap of the day's headlines and programmes for Sky News. I saw it last night on the Irish feed of Sky Mix HD. It had some new music embedded to the advert and it looked and sounded really good. I did see the same advert had a listing for Saorview along with the other TV providers in the UK.

Is that Sky News listing for Saorview listed on the UK feed of Sky Mix HD or not?

I absolutely adore the bespoke graphics they're using for the coverage of the Israel/Palestine conflict. The colours and patterns being a pairing of both flags is so lovely. Great design.

Yep. It looks absolutely beautiful in HD.

Glad you like it. I produce it most nights.
