I wonder if the new studio they say is coming is Election related, they don't really have any big spaces these days so im curious.

I was rather hoping that for the election they'd use that space in Sky Centre used in 2019 for the election.

The huge area and AR graphics were amazing.

Interview with Yalda Hakim in The observer which says her new Sky News show ‘The World with Yalda Hakim’ starts 22 January Monday to Thursday 9pm.

It really was, the cable camera as they slowly traversed to the desk for the reveal of the exit poll was stunning. But I just think with this election since it won't be a surprise, they can maybe plan a better space.

I've been expecting a revamp for sometime, the current show is easily beaten by GB News and the signed version of BBC Breakfast on BBC NC in the ratings.

And it still will be - this looks like a weird 2024 iteration of the deadly serious TVam when it first launched. Imagine making Wilfred Frost part of anything which requires personality.

They were the Famous Five- only one is (in)famous here

I noticed in the press release that Gareth will start the show at 6, with Kay then during her usual 7-10am

Preview for the new breakfast show, giving a wider look at the new studio

The set looks nice. Definitely going to give them a bump in the ratings. Rolleyes

But I like the concept of a newsreader, the correspondent and Wilfred there. Gives it a Morning Joe like concept.

RE: Sky News - Luc - 07-01-2024

Great news - much needed refresh for the show - am assuming 5am will go back to being folded into the overnight shift? No mention of the Early Rundown and not surprised if that's slot's axed as it hasn't had a permanent presenter in months.

Wilfred Frost clearly has a big fan in David Rhodes - can't think why else he seems to be getting these gigs. Not sure what it is about him that's doing it though mind...

RE: Sky News - ginnyfan - 07-01-2024

Well that's disappointing, if this is just a ''temporary set''. I guess we're in for another, revamped screen box. Rolleyes

RE: Sky News - rkolsen - 07-01-2024

Looks like Morning Joe… my comparison on Twitter:

The onlyndifference is Kay isn’t a politician but a known name. Joe had a show for two years, but after Imus they were trying different thinks.

The box sucks, they should have gotten a much lower pixel pitch LED tiles. If US (at the time with LEDs shot close to walls) networks can do it why couldn’t Sky. I don’t know if they’re independent with NBCU but the amount LED nbc uses the could probably have added it to the purchase order or used some expertise.
