The yellow gradient has been ditched (or reduced to very minimal?), so it's now pretty much just the BBC News red.

The sport/weather end of the studio is clearly still just a big chromakey area, but the virtual surroundings thankfully match the rest of the physical set now.

I feel slightly disappointed. It looks like the right hand side remain virtual which perhaps restricted the studio design and layout. It will be interesting to see how it compares to a BBC English region when they launch. I could see the left side being very similar.

They're made by the same designer, and pretty much an adapted version of those NW Tonight titles.

It'll be interesting to see how this set will compare to the upcoming England regional ones - presumably, this one is a little bigger in scale. Most England regions currently use sofas so it'll also be interesting to see if the desks are rolled out everywhere.

It does look nice - though I noticed in the headlines that there's still a rather ugly CGI sports area! It would have been nice if they had kept the old (very nice) skyline view as a backdrop, but the new one still looks good.
