They may as well keep it as a back-up. Otherwise it's only going to end up a skip after the refurb if Plymouth are likely to get the 'travelling set' from Norwich*.

Of course you’d expect nothing less to mark the occasion from Steve Saul…

They did say that Salford was going to be last 'for a number of reasons' so leaving the temp set standing would probably make sense. Reading Steve's posts, it does sound like the tech issues have been fairly significant, he said they've been in the repurposed-edit-suite for far longer than planned.

There's a few plans for the Studio 4 space. Smile

There was a short but sweet goodbye to the set at the end of the late news last night.

Must admit I have never been taken with this set especially compared to Granada’s. Looking forward to the new set

Here's a look at the temporary set

It was a set which looked better when North West Tonight were in there didn’t look great when breakfast were in there with the interviews on the screen made the presenter tilt almost 180 degrees to look at them and the lowish ceiling.

RE: BBC/ITV North West News - Brekkie - 18-03-2024

It was a pretty awful set from the moment it was installed.

RE: BBC/ITV North West News - ViridianFan - 18-03-2024

It didn’t help that the London set was much bigger and the move was described as last minute as when you saw the studio and compared it to the space sport had it felt like they decided to move breakfast but didn’t know what to do with it so just dumped it in NWT set.

I always thought breakfast looked much better when they came from the sports studio during the 2016 olympics. Why did they never share the sport studio from the off?
