Surprised that BBC One isn't shifting its schedule tomorrow so that its World Cup final coverage can get started earlier, especially now that ITV have a 35 minute head start - very likely to impact on the ratings for the delayed BBC coverage.

Really nice stadium set for the World Athletics - they certainly seem to be moving away from the more generic look of recent years.

Also Rick Edwards seems to have done some pre-Championship interviews with athlete.

Not sure if it's by choice or due to an issue but most races this morning have been completely without a clock. It turned up for one of the Steeplechase heats, and was on the race walk earlier, but it's been absent for most track races.

I do quite like the IAAF graphics - they're dynamic, modern and clear - though I think they cater a bit more to the athletics fan than the casual viewers and sometimes a little bit more info, including athletes first names, would be welcome.

Ouch - that's some bill for an event that won't happen, not to mention the money already spent prior to cancellation. Guess if it's less than the expected losses it's worth it though.

I was wondering, if anything has been announced yet, about what's happening to the rights to events or competitions held by Viaplay in the UK? I see they have the DTM for this year, previously on TNT Sports, so I wonder if that'll move back there. Also noticed some of the Europa league and champions league qualifying matches, involving Scottish teams, have been on BBC Scotland this season. A possible effect of the decision by Viaplay to exit the UK, as these would've been dead certs on there in the past.

I suspect they're keeping it going as a going concern with the hope of selling the suite of channels rather than just shutting up and defaulting on them.

P.S. Seem to be using the full screen graphics tonight which look better. Clock working too, though they don't seem to flag the World/Championship records any more.

Audio issues on Match of the Day tonight. For me on BBC One Wales, it sounds rather canny (if that makes sense); I tried to find a BBC One West or BBC One England HD during the Liverpool v. Bournemouth highlights and I found silence.

Coming back from the first edit and Gary apologised for sound issues and siad it's apparently working better on iPlayer, which I believe is true.

Yes, it's there on BBC One South HD via satellite. The audio is rather glassy / reverby, for lack of a better word. Completely listenable but definitely not quite right.

But if the issue is programme-specific, I don't understand how it's not on the iPlayer? Unless the issue is with BBC One itself, and just coincidentally happened at the start of this show.

5.1 mixdown issue? I think Dock 10 studios operate in surround by default
