An oddity is that the top of the table PRL clash tonight Sale v Bath has ended up the only game of the weekend not on TNT and is only being shown on PRTV (ie PPV streaming), which I’m sure TNT are happy about. (In fairness to them Harlequins v Northampton would have seemed more attractive at the start of the season I guess!)

Any court made available by the ATP itself - at 250s they only made centre court singles available

Certainly interesting that the rights are ATP and WTA, and are for Italy and Germany also.

Interesting that the deal doesn’t include UK tournaments like Queen’s and Eastbourne. Amazon’s deal did include these tournaments. Obviously the BBC will show these tournaments next year but there has usually also been a pay TV broadcaster of these tournaments.

No Simon Thomas on Soccer Saturday today, so Caroline Barker is hosting.

Domestic tournament rights are sold by the LTA rather than the tours.
It was a separate deal with Amazon for Queen's and Eastbourne as that's where they started their tennis coverage before the US Open in 2018. In 2021 they added the three British WTA tournaments as Eurosport gave them up/didn't renew after the 2019 editions (2020 being cancelled). This meant Prime Video could cover Eastbourne in full rather than just ATP matches.

Amazon also had to get 13x ATP 250s separately from the 1000 and 500s, hence some gaps in the ATP calendar on Prime Video. Now the 250s come with the rest so Sky have them all.

That's a shame really as the 250's being sold separately at least meant other broadcasters could snap up some rights, and there are a few decent enough tournaments amongst them (Queens was one until upgraded to a 500).

The Alpine Skiing World Cup coverage from Killington, Canada this afternoon on Eurosport has wrapped up early due to no live pictures being available. Probably live beatuy shots like below were available, and there was some audio available, but no action was available to be shown live anywhere. Eurosport UK's commentary team of Matt Chilton and Emma Carrick-Anderson filled for 30 minutes or so by reading out the live timing, discussing new technical regulations and playing out some highlights and interviews from the previous weekends, but gave up with no hope of the action airing.

A little farcical, not sure how they had the beatuy shots but not the live action.

The TV Sport institution I want to see return is Grandstand. But Hazel Irvine is amazing, the lever arch file full of research she brings to the Olympics tells you all you need to know about her professionalism.

But you would expect nothing less from somebody who honed her craft in STV's continuity studio.

Always been a real fan of Hazel, especially in Olympics mode.

The BBC Snooker titles don't have the yellow BBC Sport box included with them anymore.

The titles are now centred and include a centred BBC Sport logo with a nice strip of yellow underneath it.
