A year later, Hong Kong continued to be part of the 3x3 basketball world tour cities.

The host broadcasters continued to be Hoy TV (FTA Ch.77) and the newly-renamed Hoy IBC (Ch.76), but with much less fanfare that the official "what you need to know" article didn't mention them in viewing methods. I only captured the tail end of the final match:

The scoreboard has a new style that puts the tournament logo up front.

Meanwhile, challenges and penalties are on the right hand side of the screen.

The final score.

The full-screen roadmap towards the final match.

And the lower thirds for individual athele.

Tonights session at the UK Snooker championship is delayed, after a fire alarm went off at the venue. Discovery + is left showing an empty Barbican centre, two tables, and a caption saying resumes shortly. Eurosport, who should've been showing action on Eurosport 1, are showing snooker 147s, and highlights of the afternoon session.

EDIT: Venue given all clear, crowds going back in, and Eurosport back on air. They've explained a heating unit near a lift shaft faulted, causing a fire alarm to go off, resulting in the evacuation, while the fire brigade made the area safe. Everyone is OK.

See no scheduled evening coverage at all on the linear BBC channels this year until Thursday on BBC2 (an hour on Thursday, half an hour on Friday and the full session on Saturday and Sunday). They seem to have gone off using BBC4 for evening sessions now.

To be honest Brekkie in recent years they only really used BBC4 during the evening for the World Championships, they certainly have done every year since the Covid World Snooker Championship in August 2020

I thought that might be the case, though think they might have used it for the Masters one year.

Yes, 2021 Masters had a couple of hours of evening coverage on BBC4.

It was to make up for the reduced afternoon coverage due to BBC2 being used for educational programmes during the January 2021 lockdown.

I know they put everything on the iPlayer and use the red button extensively but I wonder if with Eurosport also having rights there is a limit in the number of hours the BBC are allowed coverage on the linear channels.

Something potentially interesting going on with Viaplay - their already delayed Q3 interim results have been pushed back by 48 hours. To me that suggests that there’s some sort of deal, possibly in relation to the whole company, almost done and they are giving themselves some extra time to get it over the line.

Reports now circulating that the UK operation has been bought by (drumroll….)

Premier Sports.

Now who didn’t see that coming?
