talkSPORT have won the radio rights for the upcoming England Men's cricket tour of India.

As it is often the case, there is still no deal in place with a TV broadcaster, despite there being less than a fortnight to go until the series gets underway. The last test series in 2021 was broadcast on Channel 4 after a last minute deal, with the limited over matches ending up on Sky in a two year deal for all India home matches. The last 12 months has had India matches shown on BT/TNT.

It's shambolic how this happens like clockwork every single series.

As you said BCCI leave it to the wire every time, the Guardian had an article about this last week and said they think Channel 4 will be unlikely to make a bid this time as Channel 4 are concentrating their finances on the Paralympics. They guessed the rights would end up like you indicated on Sky or TNT.

TNT Sports are set to pick up the rights to the India V England test series due to start in nine days according to The Telegraph.

With more games on Sky it was always inevitable more people were going to be signed up but Wilson & Amor worked for Channel 4 last season so wonder if that means the rumours are true from the Daily Mail that the BBC have taken over the live free to air rights for this season. Woods should be able to balance his BBC work with it or might see Matt Newsum get more games.

According to another forum, Woods may well have severed his BBC ties as he has removed mention of them from his Twitter bio.

Some more details of the upcoming rugby league season:

- The new streaming service Super League+ is set to launch on January 23. The Examiner article below says it will show every Super League game live. It is unclear whether Sky have two games exclusively each round.

- For the first 15 rounds of the season, every SL game will be shown on Sky Sports channels (example below).

- After that, Sky Sports is set to launch its own streaming platform/app, which will also be the home of their extra EFL games (and probably other extra streams like tennis I guess).

Confirmed here in an internal memo.

I'm surprised he has left tbh, because freelancing and appearing across multiple outlets is far from uncommon today. Another of today's signings, Mark Wilson, was on talkSPORT, Channel 4 and occasionaly Sky last season without issue for example, and was working for talkSPORT at Bolton tonight, so a good chance he isn't leaving there.

I guess Matt Newsum will be promoted to BBC #1. Maybe not neccesarily rugby league correspondent, as the likes of Mike Costello (athletics and boxing) and Roddy Forsyth (Scottish football) weren't succeeded in those titles when they have left recently. Matt doing two of England men's matches in the Autumn ahead of Dave was a possible hint that this has been on the cards for a few months?

(Thanks to the @rugbyleagueontv Twitter account for flagging up both of those articles!)

So I assume the BBC games will be non-exclusive, unlike the C4 games which I don't think were shown on Sky.
