WWE is moving to Netflix from 2025 in the UK.

Quote:Beginning in January 2025, Netflix will be the exclusive new home of Raw in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Latin America, among other territories, with additional countries and regions to be added over time. Likewise, as part of the agreement, Netflix will also become the home for all WWE shows and specials outside the U.S. as available, inclusive of Raw and WWE’s other weekly shows – SmackDown and NXT – as well as the company’s Premium Live Events, including WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble. WWE’s award-winning documentaries, original series and forthcoming projects will also be available on Netflix internationally beginning in 2025.

- The new streaming service Super League+ is set to launch on January 23. The Examiner article below says it will show every Super League game live. It is unclear whether Sky have two games exclusively each round.

- For the first 15 rounds of the season, every SL game will be shown on Sky Sports channels (example below).

- After that, Sky Sports is set to launch its own streaming platform/app, which will also be the home of their extra EFL games (and probably other extra streams like tennis I guess).

Super League+ has officially launched. It will show every SL match internationally, with 106 matches live in the UK, and the other 61 available on demand (and live exclusively on Sky). It costs £19.99 a month or £129.99 annually, with specific matches available for £6.99 or £9.99.

Nothing yet on the FTA package, but the (Gill Sans era) BBC Sport logo is amongst the partners logos at the bottom of the page.

Didn't Sky have all matches though or is this their new way of fleecing customers - buying the rights to everything but charging more for that access to everything?

Sky will show every Super League game, though only the first two picks from each weekend will be exclusive.

So, by the end of the season, they should be showing the same number of matches on TV as they did last season, with the four 'bonus' games available via streaming through Sky and Super League+. This is not factoring in the FTA matches of course.

It's that 'as available' portion that intrigues me. Presumably that means that if there's any length to run in the TNT contracts, they will do so but that basically signals the end of any PPV sales in this country if I've read it correctly - as they'd all be classed as WWE specials.
In the US, WWE programming like this had been part of the extended Peacock universe, with the WWE Network itself being shut down, this sounds like the same, but in Netflix.

There's a preview show ahead of Newport v Man Utd going out on Saturday at 3.45pm on BBC1 (with Polly James) while Giantkillers: The Team That Wouldn’t Die (2019) gets a BBC2 repeat at 5.30pm.

The preview is a repeat of Friday at 19:00 on BBC Two Wales. Not sure why they'd not schedule the preview and documentary back-to-back on Saturday.

Back to tennis and Sky will have their own commentary team for the first WTA 1000 event of the season in Dubai, on 18-24 February.

Curiously, the press release I got yesterday only mentioned the Saturday showing.

Presumably, only the half-hour slot before Final Score was available on 1, hence the documentary going out on 2 (followed by a Weatherman Walking repeat)

Two fantastic weeks of snooker viewing figures over the last few weeks.

The Masters final had a peak viewing figure of 2.9 million on BBC Two, and a total of 5.1 million requests on BBC iPlayer. There was also significant growth in Eurosport's figures as well.

The following Sunday, the World Grand Prix final on ITV 4 had the channel's highest ever snooker viewing figures, with a peak of 1.32 million.

Undoubtedly a Ronnie O'Sullivan effect boosting those figures, but still very healthy indeed. Snooker might not be in a fantastic position at the moment (the Chinese matchfixing scandal and not too many up and coming players breaking through arguablly), but its broadcast landscape is fantastic, with BBC, ITV and Eurosport involved and getting a good return.

BBC Wales are trailing it as on Friday night now. Quite the time for bonus BBC Wales Sport content, with the third series of the Slammed series of doccumentaries on Welsh rugby airing again tonight.

Any ratings for the darts on ITV4? Think they only added live coverage at the last minute, originally planning to air it delayed on Saturday (which they still did as well) and were rewarded with Luke Littlers' first TV 9-darter and first PDC title.

During the coverage of Bournemouth v. Swansea in the FA Cup, there was a camera inside the VAR Room during the VAR check. I can remember seeing this in international competitions previously, but not in English football.

With a Premier League side in action, the S4C YouTube stream is a bit more popular than normal, with the English feed reporting 6 000 viewers (the Welsh one is on less than a hundred).
