World feed as per Sky Sport NZ. Same as it ever was. No idea why the score bar is so far in screen in the year 2024.

Amazingly it is (a font change after the first year and sponsor related colour changes and tweaks aside) the 11th year of these graphics - they debuted in 2014. But if I was to hazard a guess, I’d also say it will probably be the last - since Guinness started sponsoring the women’s event recently, they’ve taken to referring to the men’s tounament as the Guinness Men’s Six Nations and I’m half guessing there’ll be a new logo next year to match.

Incidentally I believe Ryle Nugent is on the world feed comms - the first Six Nations game he’s done since leaving RTE a few years ago.

He is but he’s done world feed for a few years now.

I think most new rugby graphics (URC, Autumn nations etc) Are all so flash, big and awful. The new Heineken Cup ones are so big.

I prefer the current 6N BBC-still-look set (as they essentially are more or less the BBC Sport graphics of the early 2010s) bar the DOG placement as it is far more clean.

That’s the issue though isn’t it. These Six Nations graphics, not only are they in use 11 years, but they are very clearly based on BBC Sport graphics that were already a few years in use when they were adopted.

But it is a bit of “be careful what you wish for” a lot of the newer rugby graphics - particularly those emanating out of the Six Nations - are awful. And old doesn’t necessarily mean obsolete. All the same I think these Six Nations graphics are busily in need of replacement at this stage.

The FA Cup fifth round schedule has been published. All eight games of course will be televised over the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. That breaks down to 2x BBC One, 2x BBC iPlayer, 2x ITV 1 and 2x ITV 4. Not quite sure why the Villa/Chelsea v. Plymouth/Leeds game is kick-off TBC.

Have to agree with all of the above about the Six Nations graphics. They do the job well but come across as old. They do not bring the right message if the new Netflix audience want to stick around (not say like the F1 graphics or the new PL world feed which do catch the eye and are interesting). But one only needs to turn over to the Under 20s at any point and see the main competition is a bit fortunate (and those were even worse in round one last year with the illuminous lime green the dominant colour).

The whole Six Nations branding is getting a little messy, with the Women's and U20s using one similar logos and graphics, which is completely different to what the Men's competition uses (this goes as far as the men's using 'Six' and the others using '6'. Plus, there's another logo on the top of the website for an overall brand. The website and app have had a full redo this year as well. Is next year the first year of the new rights deals? It could be a good chance to update everything if so.

Brushing through the France 2 coverage, Shot Clock in French is 'Shot Clock' apparently. Everything else functioned in French and exact translations of the English world feed.

Their new graphics are okay, though basically teh same as the old lot with new animations, colours and fonts. The new music is a bad remix of the old stuff sadly - like the European Qualifiers football new music in 2018ish, they have added stuff on top and made the original tune weaker as well.

Surprised that with two weeks to go, there is still no official announcment of the FTA coverage of the Super League rugby league. Even though all signs point to the BBC.

Interestingly, to promote it (and on the day of the conformed launch date), this new advert have been appearing across the Sky channels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNegI1Pbu_c

No surprise ITV are onsite again this afternoon in Rome. They are pitchside, rather than in a studio high up in the stadium like when they presented from Rome from 2016-2020.

It'll probably be moved if Villa win their replay as West Midlands Police won't want two home matches on the same night.
