Might make it easier to watch the ongoing FINA Aquatics World Championships, who once again believe no UK deal is better than one below the price they're after.

talkSPORT have renewed their rights to covering the Super League. Still no official word on the BBC TV deal...

Interesting that Mark Wilson will continue with talkSPORT despite joining Sky, unlike Dave Woods and the BBC.

Very interesting developments in the United States. WBD, Fox and ESPN are launching a joint sports streaming venture.

Interesting though guess it would have to jump some competition hurdles. Seems it's all content under one banner rather than a joint service where you can subscribe to each service separately or together.

The return of the infamous "BBC News will follow the conclusion of the football" graphic tonight.

Luckily it was last night the major news broke, especially with BBC Two's programme break at 21:45 rather than 22:00.

The News at Ten airing with a 20 minute delay in the end

Are you sure? I think it aired live, just 20 minutes later. It wasn't on the BBC News Channel so there would be no reason to show it with a 20 minute delay on BBC One.

I wonder if the same can be said of the regions though. Were they all live and independent from each other?

Sorry, that's what I meant but just worded it wrong. 🤦 The news was delayed by 20 minutes in the end.

Tonight looked like another case for the use of a studio at the ground rather than present from pitchside. Though they probably would have been soaked inside tonight with how wet it was.

What a creative name.

It's becoming a trend now. I get it's to establish a stable of similar podcasts, but The News Agents and The Rest Is History work as those are actual plays on words. But these spin-off names just jar a bit and leave me thinking 'that's not a phrase, put some effort in'. Like if James Acaster and Ed Gamble launched a sport-based spin-off called Off Sport.

I guess it's the 'perplexing' end of the bad name spectrum, with the BBC's obsession with the blandest possible names at the other.
