A new rights agreement for the Netball Super League has been announced. One game per week will be shown on Sky Sports YouTube, and one match per week will be shown on BBC iPlayer. All of the opening round and the playoff semi-finals and final will also be shown on Sky Sports TV. In addition, all of the above will be available via subscription on NetballPass.

The Sky deal is for three years, and with the BBC for two.

They weren't, the graphic stabilised a few seconds after coming on air. I suspect they were just static enough for the encoding/compression to deal with.

Update to Champions League ROI rights.

VMTV have won a package consisting of four games each Tuesday and four each Wednesday. Two games each night will be broadcast on their FTA channels and two on VMTV More (only available on Virgin Media cable).

They join Premier Sports which has won first choice rights on Tuesday nights and at least one game on Wednesday nights (contradictory reports as to whether it is also the first choice and to whether Premier have access to additional games on either night). There are unconfirmed reports RTE have also won the rights to at least one game.

This seems to say RTE also have rights alongside Premier & VMTV

Talking of the Champions/Europe League the initial knockout stages not fallen particularly kindly for TNT with just two English teams in the Champions League and no British teams in the play offs for the Europa League or Europa Conference (a few are in the next round having won their group).

No less than five English/Scottish teams have already qualified for the Europa League and Europa Conference League Rounds of 16 (Liverpool, Brighton, West Ham and Rangers in the UEL; Aston Villa in the UECL). They all will host their seconds legs, and it is very rare for British teams to host in the 17:55 slot. So, something will probably have to give, as I don't think TNT Sports would want to broadcast (and really produce) five top matches simultaneously then.

And the UCL draw was really poor, not helped for English interest already being halved. I don't think any of the ties are particularly exciting, with a strong favourite in almost every match (last year had some heavyweight ties like PSG v. Bayern). For any excitement, a slightly volatile club like PSG or Bayern will have to mess up. But with the age of collection of wealth and power in an increasingly smaller list of leagues and clubs, this is ultimately where European club football is at present and into the future.

It looks like Virgin Media's coverage in Ireland of last year's World Athletics Championship was a success, with them agreeing to show a lot more athletics this year. The upcoming World Indoor Championships and World Croos Country Championships, this weekend's Seville Marathon and all Diamond League events over the summer will be shown.

The FA Cup will be shown on TNT Sports from 2025-26. Every game from the third round onwards which doesn't kick-off at Saturday 3pm will be shown. Further FTA broadcast details are yet to be announced but are due.

Quite a shame that the current agreement with the BBC and ITV will not continue IMO. I suspect it has been a real showcase of the competition to have it dominating the country's two biggest channels on many a weekend, especially when the competition importance has been waning in the eyes of some.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the BBC loses out again, as it’s the only regular football featuring top sides ITV have outside of the international stuff and the Beeb will also have Champions League Highlights from next season.

It’s not surprising TNT would go for these, with their Premier League offering being diminished and pay TV / free to air splits seem to be the best of both worlds for rights owners for competitions of a certain level.

It’s a shame though and helped to make up for live European football being much less attainable for free to air broadcasters than it used to be and indeed to the more casual football fan.

I agree, it wouldn't surprise me if BBC loses out, in view with their well-documented financial issues, notwithstanding its impending Champions League highlights rights - and renewed Premier League highlights rights - which did not come cheap.

(Off topic, the BBC could lose the free-to-air cricket rights, as they expire at the end of this summer)
