Gary Lineker confirmed on today’s episode of The Rest is Football that for this round of the FA Cup that ITV had first and fourth picks whereas the BBC had second and third. Whilst not confirmed at the time of recording he stated he couldn’t see anything but ITV showing the United/Liverpool fixture.

Jeanette has certainly had better interviews 😁😁

The BBC athletics is far better than what is was a few years ago. I don't think Gabby was seen for over half an hour on multiple occasions this morning, which is what we want to see. The action is taking priority over the studio chat, which is not often the case in the past.

Good to have Jessica Ennis-Hill double in the studio and in commentary as well; Steve Backley's field commentary does help when he has someone with him (Toni Minchello rightfully no longer used in that role).

An interview just as awkward now as they threw to Jeanette just as the Canadian anthem began in the background for a medal ceremony, with America's Noah Lyles refusing to speak during the anthem, leaving 30 seconds of almost dead air and Jeanette a little appologetic.

Jeanette replaced by Ali Drew to present Channel 5's boxing coverage. A completely new name to me.

Surely they should have just switched to the medal ceremony.

They did eventually join the world feed showing the flags on the screen for the climax of the anthem. I can understand for timing reasons they don't, but I would like for them to broadcast every medal ceremony.

I don’t think the BBC have broadcast many non British medal ceremonies at sporting events in recent years. Except for the biggest non British names.

Wasn't expecting the secondary BBC Sport studio to be fired up for post-midnight NBA coverage. Last year's extra presentation came from a commentary box-like position.

Nice that the green screen sections of the floor is made to like the wood floor of the basketball court.

Yes that is true. At most outdoor athletics championships, the medal ceremonies often these days take place in a medal plaza or similar outside of the stadium. This means any medal presentation worthy of being shown will be shown on delay in the evening broadcast.

The 16th will be a busy ol' Saturday on BBC One and ITV1, as it's also the final round of the Six Nations. The fixtures do seem to slot together fairly well with no potential for awkward overruns that I can see.

Well BBC and ITV sharing the rights to both make it easy enough to schedule without clashes. May be trickier moving forward assuming one of the two pick up the FTA package, especially if TNT dictate which matches in which slots are FTA.

Looks like C4 have some live MMA at 5pm on "Channel 4". Think this is their first live sport on their own streaming service - previously they've used YouTube.
