I think ITV, RTÉ and S4C produce the match coverage of the matches they show in the Champions Cup (when applicable), so the chance to offload a bit of that operation to someone else could be a factor I'd think. At least, ITV and RTÉ's commentators are heard on global broadcasts and the official highlights.

I'd suspect the Ireland matches will be shown on FTA TV in Ireland, Wales will get some FTA coverage for sure as well. I'm not sure how much sway TNT/BT have/had in this, but the ITV Champions Cup picks are usually a decent pick, though annoyingly repetitive.
If I had to guess, a FTA partner would broadcast one match from Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England, with none of those being New Zealand or South Africa matches.

Having some FTA coverage will be a welcome addition after the recent loss of it for sure. Despite the well placed alarm for the future of the Six Nations, this would mean all rugby competitons near enough will have an element of FTA coverage in the UK next season (Premiership and Champions Cup on ITV, URC on BBC Wales, S4C and BBC NI, PWR on the BBC and YouTube and the Challenge Cup and Champions Cup also on S4C).

So the likeliehood of them paywalling the FA Cup draw must be close to zero.

Anyways, in both instances, UEFA and the FA show the draws for free via UEFA.tv/UEFA.com and YouTube/Facebook/Twitter.

Next weekend's MotoGP will be shown by ITV as well as TNT Sports.

Why is it being shown on ITV when it wasn't last week when the MotoGP started. Huh

ITV have in recent seasons showed two live rounds per season, and for whatever reason, they have selected next week's round as one to show this season. They air highlights of all th other rounds on ITV 4 in midweek (on a Monday or Tuesday IIRC).

Didn't even realise that as not into the MotoGP. Fingers crossed they will be allowed to show the British on 4th August

They did in 2021 and 2022, but opted out of showing it in 2023 because of schedule congestion.

In the days when they were a bit more profligate with their studio shows, BT sometimes did an FA Cup draw show even when the BBC were host (leading to the odd situation on one occasion of opting in to the One Show). In later years they were happy to not simulcast it. Anyhow, it's a good shop window for the forthcoming games, so doesn't make sense to paywall it.

Man Utd v Liverpool peaked at over 8m yesterday. Probably a timely encounter as the fine print is thrashed out on the free to air deal.

Seeing Roger Mosey reminds me, have the BBC appointed a long term successor to Barbara Slater as Director of Sport yet?

Can't see anything since Philip Bernie being appointed on an interim basis back in January.

Two courts from the qualifying rounds of the Miami Open are being broadcast by the ATP's Tennis TV on their YouTube channel

Not sure if this is an indication of an expanse of coverage going forward.
