TNT missed the end of the Toulouse v Racing game having lost the feed from the host broadcaster.

Same on the German FTA feed I was watching. It went illuminous green. They took the TNT commentary (the de facto world feed. France 2 was fine though and without any issue. So either a problem on WBD's end, or a problem getting out of France.

Always quite fun when the studio are asked to fill for many minutes more than they would've been expecting, Craig Doyle and co did well.

The Champions Cup and Challenge Cup quarter-final schedules has been revealed.

Three Champions Cup games on Saturday. RTÉ getting the repeat of last year's final, Leinster v. La Rochelle. ITV not getting the only tie to take place on Great Britain, but rather the Dupont factor of Toulouse v. Exeter. I think their overseas match last season had ITV presenting from Ealing, and especially with the turnaround, I would suspect that would be the case next week.
France tv have a fantastic contract from their PoV it's got to be said, not sure how much they contribute to the pot; they had a reporter onsite in Cape Town yesterday, though commentary was offtube as the same commentary personnel popped up today onsite in Toulouse.

To the Challenge Cup, and TNT Sports have taken over as the broadcaster in the UK and Ireland, showing all four games. S4C will also show Gloucester v. Ospreys on Friday night. None of the Challenge Cup matches clash with the Champions Cup fixtures, but sadly two of the quarter-finals on Saturday lunchtime do clash.

NB Kick-offs are local time, so remove one hour for matches in France and South Africa.

Quite the scene in the Turkish Super Cup. My broadcasting related question is all those ads popping up across the lower thirds the standard in Turkish sports broadcasting??

Seems really quite excessive in this clip. They might have rushed all the ads from the whole 90' into the brief bit of time that match actually lasted for Big Grin ).

To what happened. In protest over a number of factors of governance of Turkish football, such as refereeing, fan violence and the game not being postponned despite Fenerbahce playing in the Europa League on Thursday, Fenebahce originally named their under 19 team to start. They then conceded in the first monute, and then walked off the pitch. Galatasaray were declared winners of the Super Cup. The match was originally postponned back in December after a row relating to it being held in Saudi Arabia and the Saudis not allowing the image of Turkey's founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk to be displayed.

As reported previously, TNT Sports have confirmed they are going to be showing the rugby Autumn Internationals this year. They also mention that there will be a FTA element which they are yet to confirm.

Seems only to be a one year deal which is a bit odd. Now my understanding is that the new World Rugby Nations League (or whatever it ends being called) only starts in 2026, so presumably there will still be an Autumn Nations Series in 2025, so you think they’d have done a two year deal?

What happens with the FTA element will be interesting. Now contrary to what some might say, Ireland’s internationals are not protected for free to air (and indeed the summer tours have typically only been on pay TV, as have some World Cup warm up games in the past) but taking this at face value we might possibly see some Ireland Autumn internationals games exclusively FTA.

Add to this, the BBC has also submitted a request to OFCOM so they can show the Challenge Cup final exclusively until 2026.
