Eurovision Sport has aquired rights to some Bille Jean King Cup tennis action this week. Nothing is coming up for me for this week, but I think the GB tie is on the BBC iPlayer.

I haven't used the new Eurovision Sport platform much, but it looks like there is a decent spread of minor rights on there. Rowing World Cup, endurance motorosport, diving and gymnastic world cups, World Race Walking Championship, padel and even the Grand National and the Dubai World Cup all have appeared in some territories.

One does wonder how sustainable the restricted level of coverage of the Masters at Augusta is in the long term, especially with ventures like LIV changing golf and attempting to change the way it is covered. Big names getting little screen time over the first two days would presumably disgruntle viewers, broadcasters and brands and hurt viewing figures etc. Though saying that all that, CBS, ESPN and the likes of Sky are more than happy to fork out the cash to air it despite the terms being far more restrictive than any other event.

From the replies seems they're ahead of the times rather than behind the times with everything not on TV streamed on their own app. I believe Sky's coverage isn't quite as restricted as that on CBS either as they can package up the app streams into their own broadcast, so coverage here begins on Sky Sports Golf at 8am Augusta time.

Live now is four live streams: Holes 4, 5 & 6, Amen Corner (11, 12 & 13), Holes 15 & 16 and Featured Groups. So, there is limited coverage through the morning and early afternoon, but plenty will not be covered (big shots/moments will be posted as clips I think).

I think Sky in previous years have done composite coverage of the available feeds before the main broadcast begins at 8pm UK time.

Is the app coverage just in the US? I’ve tried the app but all I see is a non-working “My Groups” and an audio only “Masters Radio”.

I think so. I tried masters.com with VPN and all of the above came up. I think it should be available via Sky on the Red Button, unless they'rejust showing their own version on the Golf Channel. Also on on ESPN+ and I think Paramount+ in the US.

I think many shots is uploaded on the website/app globally under the players' scorecards.

One other line ahead of Crucible season - Channel 5 have snapped up rights to show the World Seniors Championship (8th - 12th May) which follows on from the main tournament.

Bit of a blow for the Beeb as it did garner some decent ratings - the 2022 final, according to the World Seniors Tour, was watched by 200k on Red Button and another 192k online.

The field is somewhat more international this time compared to the last few years (funnily enough, Jimmy White missed out on qualifying for the actual World Championship earlier today…)

Likewise, those few events of Snooker 900 must have rated well for Channel 5 for them to acquire some standard format snooker.

I wonder if Whisper are producing this for the Seniors Tour, same as the 900 events? In the past it's been 247.tv, and the quality has been pretty grim in terms of presentation.

Certainly last year there were a number of problems with swearing in live interviews as they didn't have the facility to do any punditry other than having Rob Walker at table side.

Glasgow might also be in talks to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games (NB I can't read the article but I'll assume it's sound). I assume all the facilities from 2014, bar the athletics track, are still there and are in good condition.
