Very opportunistic of Canal+ - the share price has taken a battering (down 48% intra day) today, the market is not happy with Viaplay. Might be a precursor to a takeover, or not.

I don't follow GAA but the press when the BBC announced their rights said

This landmark agreement means that the All-Ireland semi-finals will be broadcast on BBC iPlayer and that either the All-Ireland Senior Football Final, or the All Ireland Hurling final, will be shown ‘live’ on BBC network television – bringing these fixtures to a UK-wide audience.

In other news Gold Coast has offered to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

I imagine that it would come as some relief to the CGF that Gold Coast are willing to take it on again, in addition to Birmingham potentially throwing it's hat into the ring as well

Meanwhile, Canada have said their focus is on preparing a bid for the 2030 Commonwealth Games - which they are likely to get IMO after they withdrew their bid to try and host the Winter Olympics that year last autumn

Gold Coast has now been ruled out as Queensland won't fund it. Birmingham has also ruled itself out. London and a Scotland wide bid have put their hands up but likely reliant on government funding.

Both Christchurch and Auckland are said to be seriously looking at it, and the Womens World Cup being co-hosted there currently means there is a bit more will to engage than their might be otherwise.

New Zealand would be nice, as the Commonwealths have never been hosted there before.

London is probably the last resort for the CGF, assuming the bid could get the government on board to support with funding.

Christchurch had them in 1974 and Auckland in 1990.   Christchurch were looking at 2034 and the NZOC say this is still the best option, though if nobody steps up for 2026 there may be no 2034.

Does anyone know where Eurosport's Tour de France studio is? Orla mentioned she is away from home (Amsterdam), so are they using the Eurosport cube and where is it located?

It's in their facility at Stockley Park.

Does Mark Chapman no longer do the Challenge Cup?

I think you'll find he's at the Open Golf Championship for 5 Live.
