Is this normal for this to happen?

It’s the few weeks where we are only 4 hours ahead of the US. It’s also Midterm Election time so WNA is on air early (for us). The Context is scheduled to follow WNA at half past and again at 10pm.
When the UK switches to GMT next October, WNA will be on at 9pm for UK viewers all winter until we go back to BST at the end of March. Next Spring is the last time the US will put it's clocks forward and the clock changes in November and April are then abolished.

This 2130 version of The Context appears to be UK-only from the language and running order. Understand it’ll relate to the time zone oddness, but interesting to see for a change. What’s going out on World News at this time? Something pre-recorded I assume?

EDIT - looking at schedules, this is apparently being carried on World too. Odd, definitely feels different to the normal edition.

Not sure this has officially become law yet. Also feels a bit early to be guessing at what the BBC News schedule will look like this time next year, particularly with Washington being a big part of the changes.

It's been happening for a few weeks already, hasn't it? So can't be chalked down to clock change chaos.

It's been happening for a few weeks. I presume it's so they don't have to go to the trouble of opening Studio E for half an hour.

Minor error during the headlines of the Ten tonight. They wrote "Matt Hancock resignation" on-screen, instead of "suspension".

Looks like the BBC have upheld the (inevitable) complaints.

Quote:The Papers, 23rd October 2022
Summary of complaint
We received complaints from viewers who felt the edition of The Papers broadcast at 22:30 on 23rd October was not duly impartial, and that the presenter expressed opinions on the Conservative leadership contest.

Our response
We have reviewed the edition of The Papers broadcast on 23 October at 22:30. This programme did not meet the BBC’s editorial standards on impartiality.

Thank goodness for that-And the complaints department we're clearly watching a different clip to the rest of us when upholding the complaint!
