The new look launches on April 17.

I very much hope that they won't be flying 3D helicopters and jets a la Sky News 2003 in the studio...

I still can't help thinking that M6 would have benefitted better having a real set while still using augmented reality.

However it was nice to see all the presenters, including the stand-ins (jockeys as they're called in France) all getting turns to pilot the new studio.

Some of their previous virtual sets had actual physical furniture such as tables which looked nicer imo.

Am watching Franceinfo, and they have a (nightly?) feature called 'Eurozapping', where they look at reports from other European stations. One of tonight's featured reports was the BBC's report about the 50th anniversary of the first mobile phone call. To introduce it, they used the old (non-Reith) Six titles and then showed Ben Brown introducing it on the One!

Eurozapping's been around since the early days of the channel. They use content from fellow EBU broadcasters including the BBC for the feature.

Ah yes, Eurozapping – it always reminds me of those compilations that WW Update used to put together, only it's a segment on an actual news channel!

The new look of M6's news launched during the 19h45 edition (instead of the 12h45). With the new look, the theme music was remixed. This edition was also extended due to President Macron's ministerial broadcast (allocution) on the controversial pensions reform.

There was no change to the weather virtual set on M6.

The first impression is I like the straps, but the set is way too big with the presenter and contributors looking like pin men on the wide shots.
