BBC News Pres: Nostalgia

Yes that's right, it was the opening titles and bed rather than the title end sting/closing sting. I watched an edition of WBR go out live from the gallery in N9 back in about 2003 and I have a very vague recollection of being told that for some reason I've forgotten the titles were played out from something like laserdisc or server or something but the accompanying music was played in from MiniDisc and later probably SpotOn, hence why they were always out of sync. Like I say it's only a vague recollection of being told this but if anyone can shed any more light on it I'd appreciate it.

Wow that's a blast from the past! Nici Marx at the newsdesk and Mishal Husain on business!

That's a great find. Can't have been long before Nici Marx departed for CNN.

That DOG also looks a bit non-standard but could just be the quality of the recording. It was early in the era where they were swapping between a 4:3 and 14:9 safe version between programming and news but soon a single version was settled on that suited both although that did result in it being rather deep on screen for 4:3 programmes.
