Warner Bros. Discovery - Company News and Discussion

It seems likely that Max will launch on Sky and be integrated into the standard subscription bundles, but it will also be available direct to consumer for other platforms. It remains to be seen what will happen with discovery+ (common ownership - WBD) as it does not make sense to operate and maintain 2 separate apps, as D+ has been running for some years, it will likely be due its hardware cycle (support models, roughly every 5 years new O/S, server hardware etc) by then so moving content onto a common backend and merging the UX seems sensible.

Discovery + is quite cheap for a months subscription to the non TNT sport. It would be shame if it merged and was suddenly a lot more expensive or even unavailable for non Sky customers.
