Best Weather Presenter: Laura Tobin/Abbie Dewhurst for their coverage on sustainability/global warming across media

What does that say about a channel if it scares fish? Just talk me through that.

Well, some are guessable. But I'd actually genuinely be interested in hearing some people's thoughts and reasons for some of these choices (it is a discussion forum afterall), rather than just long lists of names.

Best Newscaster: Huw Edwards. He's certainly entered his 'Elder Statesman' era of his career now. He's on par with Peter Sissons and Trevor McDonald for me.
Best Regional Presenter: Lucy Meacock. Between BBC NWT and Granada Reports, the latter has the better talent, and Lucy Meacock should probably front the news on her own, instead of being a co-presenter.
Best Weather Presenter: Carol Kirkwood, because she makes even bad weather palatable
Best Business Correspondent: I recuse myself from this one
Best News Programme: The Channel 4 News. If ITV want an hour long programme, then this is the way to do it. ITN's best news programme bar none.
Best Studio: BBC News at 6/10. Once the new look comes in, I think it will look better. I don't think the red does it justice.
Best News Channel: BBC News Channel, but only just. Once ITV News' FAST channel launches, I imagine this to change.
Best Music: Good Morning Britain. Authoritative, but energetic
Hard As Nails: No winner here either, chief.
Most Missed: Owain Wyn Evans. Losing him from NWT still upsets me
Best Newcomer: Don't have one
Biggest Disappointment: TalkTV. I think its failure, and that of GB News show that people actually want their news channels to have news on it, rather than views, or simulcasts of radio shows.
Rising Star: De'Graft Mensah. When he did the special news bulletin on Newsround for the death of the Queen, I think he did it properly for the nation's children. He was calm, serious, but broke the news in a way kids could digest. I think he is a rising star, and I do hope he moves up the ranks within the BBC, like other Newsround presenters in the past.
Overall TOTP: BBC News, for its coverage of the death of the queen, and its commitment to quality, in spite of the challenges it has faced.
