I think the ITV1 weekday CITV slots had ended by that point. Though the ITV children's department was closed down not that long after anyway... though was ressurected as "Kindle Entertainment", which among other things made My Spy Family for Boomerang... which was basically MPAA with spies rather than aliens.

Similar to CBBC and CBeebies, it's easier to offer less on a channel that is out of the way and can be seen to make up for a lack of new content with more hours, although still repeats.

A consequence of the kids blocks being removed from the main channels is we are now in a position where so many new formats that would have aired weeknights have been burned through in daytime and broadcasters are too reliant on some brands, Masterchef for example.
