BBC/ITV East News

Seems BBC Look East didn't air this evening. BBC London News was shown instead, with the presenter acknowledging viewers in the East at the start of the programme.

Anyone know what happened?

Is there a specific reason why BBC London were in Studio A, such as routine H&S testing, or is Studio D now being upgraded?

They are actually moving to Studio B in the future - don't know what will happen to D.

Look East was replaced by BBC London again this evening.  The BBC London presenter did not make reference to the issue today though. And there was no mention of the lack of TV news on the Look East Twitter feed today either.

Curious that a technical issue took so long to resolve.

Clip below (we've left in the iPlayer details as proof that it went out on BBC One East).

Look East was back on air at 10.20pm tonight.

Tonight’s Look East came from Cambridge rather than Norwich

I just hope the Norwich studio gets some upgrades once the Cambridge edition ends, even if it means they temporarily decamp to Cambridge for the duration. The pre-recorded weather during the Breakfast updates has a particularly poor picture quality, often feeling like it's been streamed via a non-fibre internet connection. Having seen the same weather presenter feature in other region's breakfast updates when away from home those regions don't appear to have the same problem.

Formerly 'Charlie Wells' of TV Forum.

The regional breakfast forecasts on South East Today have awful PQ, despite the fact they're recorded in Full HD from BH due to the SD only desk.

I think when they usual hub team record the forecasts they do from home. When covered by others they are often from a studio. The giveaway being the lack of any clicker/remote.
