Can't help think this could have been on BBC Three for example instead of the red button. Tomorrow the red button joins it 30 minutes in following Final Score. Meanwhile there's a repeat of Flog It! on BBC Two...
That said, the production quality isn't that great from Colombia, so probably for the best. It's a shame BBC Red Button channel isn't in HD on satellite a week earlier.
Usually I would have said they wouldn't put in on BBC Three or BBC Two because sports coverage on those channels usually have presentation to acompony it, but the BJK Cup match on BBC Two in November only used Hazel Irvine presenting from the snooker between matches as any type of presentation so that should be a mute point.
Past Davis Cup ties would have had full presentation, on site for home ties and from a studio for away ties, with Sue Barker, Andrew Castle, John Lloyd etc., and on BBC Two in their entirety.
The time of day probably doesn't help. It might have had a better chance in the morning.
Meanwhile if you want to see how the Dutch do it, Ziggo's coverage of Netherlands vs Slovakia will be freely available on YouTube on Saturday (as is usually the case with Dutch DC and BJKC ties): www.youtube.com
