Good to see more and more appearing on there, does suggest the cataloguing that I read years ago needed doing (which somehow ended up morphing into "most episodes are wiped") is taking place.

There are some oddities in the search though. Type in The Big Breakfast one week and you'll see a few new episodes appear, then the next day they no longer appear in the search but the links to those newly uploaded episodes posted here still work and play as normal.

Seems to be how the Screenocean website is in general with all sorts of shows, only ever seems to be a handful of episodes of most shows listed on there and what's listed seems to come and go. I guess it's only intended as a snapshot of what material they have rather than an comprehensive listing.

From what I remember the impending revamp was announced very late (a couple of weeks before perhaps) although rumours about Zoe's future on the show pretty much started the day she started.  The Eggs on Legs tour took place over the last 4 weeks of the summer, with the show fully on the road alongside them the week before and in the garden the week before that.

It's the real kitchen. The window was covered up to conceal the renovation work. The views outside of the patio doors in the kitchen and the living room French windows were also obscured for the same reason. (EDIT: Actually, that window would have been filled in by this point - the new kitchen didn't have one there. It was reinstated for Johnny and Denise. From looking at the first hour video, the scaffolding on the right hand side of the house creeps into shot and you can see the newly added render.)

This is probably Keith's final week on the show before he was "off on holiday for a couple of weeks". He presented the "How's the House?" feature at this time, showing some of the work going on.

And is that Ray, later of Ministry of Mayhem fame, on the sofa at 1:06?  Which reminds me that it's nearly 20 years since that began.... jeeeeeeus.

Love those first few off air minutes - pretty much as they were on air with a bit of added language. An air of confidence, perhaps arrogance, about the whole thing too. Liza perhaps doesn't get the credit she deserves for the year she did, possibly overshadowed by bringing back Denise after she left.

From this edition of Snap, Crackle & Pop at 01:36:27, they say the boudoir has been decorated five times but two shots show the same wallpaper. Also, is there much info around online of 'The Big Day' as mentioned in the same clip? I think it later became 'Fox and Friends'?

I was wondering that myself. I think there was a second US version too (think both were local efforts) which was more studio based and perhaps shared the name rather than the format but this first version looks like a far more authentic remake, but I struggle to find any evidence of it online. I'm sure we must have discussed it at the blue place or purple place previously.

I know there was an Australian version that was called The Big Arvo as well.

There’s was show called ‘Breakfast Time’ which was loosely based on it on the newly launch FX channel. That show was based in a real flat in New York, although the wider daytime schedule was also based on that building.

The show later moved onto the main Fox Network, but the bosses didn’t really understand what made the format work and sanitised it.

I became aware from watching bits of two good but quite long YouTube videos about the subject.

I’d imagine they didn’t licence the format though.

It seems that the pilot was from 1994 as September 16 fell on a Friday that year. Interesting as it would've been coming up to two years by this point yet was apparently still "being developed."

FX (and Breakfast Time) had already gone on air a few months earlier in June 1994.
