I can see why it's *currently* the bookies' favourite. Not sure if the juries will be particularly fond of it on Saturday

They've never won before, although Eurovision has been hosted there during the Yugoslav days.

This song is favourite to win, but wasn't initially selected to compete in Croatia's national final.

Even in the final the voting has changed. Lines are open literally just before the first song.

Quote:Voting in the Grand Final will also now open just before the first song is performed, remain open throughout the performances and for up to 40 minutes after the final song is performed.

That’s irrelevant to the point made though.

It's actually quite jarring to watch.

Not quite, 25p is 25 p for Progressive this is 25 full frames per second. So 25 times a second theres a whole new frame.

TV is broadcast in 1080 50i..... i being interlaced. This is 25 frames a second but made of 50 fields of alternate lines (so lines 1,3,5,7 etc then 2,4,6,8 etc

EDIT
It's being shot in 25 psf but shown in 1080i50

The 25fps picture looks really awful on RTÉ's broadcast tonight. It sort of looks like a jagged video tape quality edge to it in HD via Saorview. The BBC's broadcast actually looks ok when I see it on BBC One tonight via FTA Satellite.

Oh fgs. Please not the BBC opting out of presenter segments during the commercial breaks

I thought you'd grown out of this BBC Eurovision. Opting out of Petra isn't cool

At least it's not some skit about the trophy going missing.

To be fair the Swedish hosts have clearly saved their weakest material for these breaks.

A crown, but nowadays you have to make do with a 20p and a 5p.
