Looks like the BBC's "Sweaty and Dirty" look has reached the regions~ Thomas Magill from BBC London is not wearing a jacket this morning... It's just a matter of time when the national bulletin presenters like Huw Edwards or Clive Marie go tie-less or jacket-less on air!

Both editions of the BBC/ITV regional news were Coronation skewed. ITV News London briefly shoehorned the election story that the Lib Dems won Windsor as they had Lucrezia Millarini covering the Coronation from Windsor, otherwise it was presented by Charlene White from Canada Gate. It proved again that ITV London really has no interest in the home counties unless it's a national story.

BBC London appeared to finally stop the work-to-rule use of reporters doubling up into senior presenter roles today (Samantha Simmonds presented on Wednesday) with Frankie McCamley in D covering the election news with Tim Donovan, while Asad Ahmad was also at Canada Gate.

I did think it was strange that Sally didn't present the weather today given she was presenting a report on the Coronation.

I did think it was strange that Sally didn't present the weather today given she was presenting a report on the Coronation.

It does happen from time to time that Sally will be only on a reporting shift, especially on a Friday when it's more likely to be a weekend hub forecaster on ITV London weather.

BBC London was back in B for the late bulletin with the election part of the desk removed, which allowed for the normal standing position to return.

When BBC London first started, male presenters (particularly Asad Ahmad) would often go on air without a jacket. So it’s nothing new - more like a return to the roots, as it were!
